Purposed Innovation: The Tender Solution

Two standout design solutions on board address the largest footprints of the least rewarding spaces for this owner on board the 5600 sq. ft. interior of Atlante: the tender garage and the formal dining area. The design team created ingenious layouts and mechanisms for both that also satisfied the owner’s request to keep required functional equipment visibly minimized.

Atlante’s tender garage is an epic, main deck, triple purposed space. Underway, tenders are stored and lift cranes sit quietly by on the aft quarter of the deck. When the tenders are called into service as the yacht arrives at a destination, the large, louvered wings raise up, opening the deck space, port to starboard, along a 30 ft. expanse. Well-designed lifts move the wings upward, as the tenders are transferred to the water, resulting in a broad expanse of open, finely-finished teak decking unlike that on board any other yacht.

When freed of the tenders, this space becomes an active social hub. Guests boarding from the lower level beach club ascend a central stair to enter the expanse, revealing one of the most elegant party decks ever conceived. Additionally, a huge drop-down projector and speakers turns the space into a Videoworks cinema. All this happens at the touch of specific buttons, with an almost magical sense about it since the working pieces have been designed to serve without being seen.

Divine Dining on Demand

Formal dining found its niche forward on the upper deck of Atlante. Another ingenious solution by the design team, this beautiful stretch of teak decking appears an uninterrupted space, with sun deck chaise lounges fully forward approaching the gently rounded bow.

When a large formal dining space is required, the adjustable height table rises from its flush position on the aft portion of the forward deck, allowing a custom seating system to host guests at tatami height, with legs folded on the deck or dropped into the recess beneath the table, all beneath the protection of stylish overhead cover. When not in use, the expanse is suitable for use as a touch and go helipad.

Design Elements

Their first effort put toward a yacht, Gilles and Boissier proved worthy of the task. Choosing a combination of luxurious raw materials and combining them with stunning woods, linens, and natural color palettes was a proper choice for Atlante. Glass, chrome, smoked oak, brushed fir, and an abundance of Carnico marble lining halls, baths, and occasional spaces, enhance an array of rich natural textures and sophisticated, polished surfaces.

Details like weighted pillows on outdoor furniture to keep them from escaping, and pantograph sliding glass doors that open spaces cleanly speak to the exquisite design ethic on board
