Claasen 39m Atlante

At First Glance

Unveiled at the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show after her summer delivery, Atlante found approval from the yachting community. Slipping through the water on a slender, sloop-rigged profile with low deckhouse echoing the era of great sailing ships, she appears but a sliver of a yacht. On closer inspection, her understated presence flashes refined elements like an engraved stern, sparkling brightwork, deeply varnished West Indies Mahogany joinery, and teak-laid decking, establishing that she is truly art under sail.

Her 48-meter/158-foot carbon mast, North 3Di 10,000 square-foot sail plan, and carbon rigging point to modern technology. The profile with streaming hair on the brilliant blue spinnaker announces her 13+ knot speed. Combining the best of tradition and technology, Atalante instills a sense of pride simply by observing her response to those working her decks.

Main Deck

Boarding via a portside platform that folds hydraulically out of the hull, guests are surrounded by exquisitely-crafted cockpits, deckhouses, and perfectly-fitted details. Amidship, two C-shaped sofas to port and starboard under the protection of a solid, removable bimini boast adjustable height tables finished in highly polished Mahogany.

Trim blue cushions and soft goods, accented in red, seat an appreciable crowd. Aft of that main cockpit and out from under the bimini, a forward C-shaped seating area with small cocktail tables allows guests to greet the sun and stars. Forward of the cockpit, a short stair leads to an upper salon.

A forward stair leads to the enclosed cockpit, providing a comfy perch for guests preferring protection from the elements. The immediate impression is one of awe over the gorgeous polished mahogany joinery and sumptuous feel of the space. A dining table for 8 and a fully equipped bar are set to port, with a seating area, flag locker, and small table to starboard. A forward stair leads to the lower deck, housing guest cabins, galley, and crew areas. An aft stair leads to the owner’s suite.

Private Owner’s Cockpit and Deckhouse

Aft of the main cockpit and deckhouse, an additional owner’s area offers privacy for a hands-on captain that loves to command sailing action. Fully aft, a single wheel with cable-based direct steering operated by manual chain and wire, benefits by 360° visibility. Hydraulic functions make for ease of handling with sailing short-handed.

Forward of the wheel, an owner’s cockpit offers similar seating to the main cockpit under the protection of a bimini. A short stair forward leads to the owner’s fully protected deckhouse, with a sofa to port and a well-equipped, three screen navigation station forward.
