Princess Yachts has a reputation for building some of the world's most luxurious yachts. The company's new S Class range of Sportbridge shows that it isn't comfortable resting on its laurels. Princess Yachts wants to keep moving forward with more innovative designs that add luxury and performance to its boats.
S72, the first Princess S Class yacht, will launch at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2014. David King, the chairman of Princess, says that the new yachts use an advanced deep-V hull design and lower profiles that make them some of the fastest, efficient cruising vessels in the world. He says that the new series also emphasizes the luxury that owners have come to expect of Princess Yachts.
Princess equipped S72 with twin Caterpillar engines that generate between 1622 and 1800hp. A low center of gravity, the deep-V hull, and powerful engines lets her travel at speeds over 37 knots. While Princess has not announced her cruising speed, many expect that it will look equally impressive.
Princess currently plans to release an S80 version in 2015. Two more S Class models are planned for future releases.
