Saturday, 18 June, the new Azimut 45 and Atlantis 44 was presented to more than 300 carefully selected guests: a world premier event in classic Venetian style.
Paolo Vitelli has selected Venice, the most magical city in the Mediterranean, to present his two latest jewels of the sea, Azimut 45 and Atlantis 44, enriching the already extensive range of boats offered by the Group.
Moored in front of the Hotel Excelsior Lido, the two yachts were the final surprise during an 18th century Venice themed evening: Masks, costumes, Venetian Republic Heralds and the Rondò Veneziano Chamber Orchestra provided the perfect atmosphere for the triumphant appearance of the new arrivals which are soon to become leaders in their class.
Inspired by the concepts of convertibility and modularity, the new 45 from Azimut Yachts is without doubt the most advanced flybridge of its size. Together with designers Stefano Righini e Carlo Galeazzi, the shipyard set its sights on building a boat that is extremely roomy and comfortable, ensuring maximum enjoyment of life on board. The flybridge can be configured in three ways. For instance, the cockpit has been expressly designed so as to enable it to be converted from a relaxation area into a dining area. Interior spaces offer flexibility as well, where simple movements permit a variety of new layouts to be created on board. The myriad solutions for hospitality make the most of each component's potential for modularity and convertibility. Atlantis 44' is the first boat equipped with the brand new Volvo Penta D6 400, the most powerful Z-drive diesel engine in the world. Currently, no other boat in existence can offer this engine because Volvo Penta has selected Atlantis -the open yacht specialist – for the exclusive market debut of this innovative and conceptually revolutionary engine. The Atlantis 44 with D6 400 has a faster sprint and a higher top speed: over 36 knots. It can also maintain cruising speeds at lower RPMs, enabling a significant reduction in fuel consumption. And, there are clear advantages in terms of comfort: considering its high capacity and notable power output, the Volvo Penta D6 400 is actually quite a light and compact engine with low noise and vibration levels. The new engine is further proof that Atlantis 44 is an innovative boat, vigorously underscoring the value of the Atlantis brand: Italian design, sportiness and maximum comfort.
