The year 2013 is an important time for the Volvo Ocean Race, as they celebrate their 40th birthday. They decided to commemorate this event in an original and spectacular way: a photo exhibition with forty stunning images that convey the race's complete story.

Wally's 50-meter yacht, Better Place, takes design, technology, and environmentalism to new levels of accomplishment. Working with Tripp Design Naval Architects, Wetzel Brown Partners for interior design, and Luca Bassani for exterior design, Wally has built the first sailing yacht that complies with the new RINA Green Star specifications.

Last Thursday 20th June, the shipbuilding company Lürssen announced the successful launching and presentation of Project Niki, which will shortly be named "Solandge". This mega yacht has a length of 85.10 m and a beam of 13.80 m and possesses extraordinary volume. "Solandge" represents the most modern high-end luxury cruising and will be cruising her first season in the Caribbean.

Loretta Anne stands out as an accomplishment built by quality materials, innovative designs, and the demands of an experienced yachtsman. Alloy Yachts worked closely with Dubois Naval Architects and Donald Starkey Designs to build a yacht that would match the expectations of an owner who already owns two vessels from Alloy Yachts. Loretta Anne exceeds those demands while managing to express an aesthetic sensibility that looks appropriate all over the world.

AMELS, the largest superyacht builder in Holland, has announced the sale of the second AMELS 199. This LIMITED EDITION yacht is thought as a revolution in the semi-custom market. Its flexible design has allowed it to be fully customised and delivered to its owner in less than two years time.

Feadship, based in the Netherlands and recognized as the world leader in the field of custom superyacths, has presented the 62-metre FeadshipSea Owl. This superyacht has left the yard for sea trials and the official launching is scheduled for July, but some details have been revealed: her service launch offers the first daylight glimpse of Sea Owl's signature jade mist green and oyster white color scheme. She has gorgeous lines designed by the well-known English yacht designer, Andrew Winch.

Laurel represents a stunning achievement in design and engineering. Donald Starkey Design and Delta Design Group worked together on this project to create the first superyacht with a steel hull and composite superstructure. Although many sea-going vessels have steel hulls, this has not been a common element in yachts. Delta Design Group, however, firmly believes that it makes more sense to allocate a vessel's weight budget on structure instead of fairing compound. Through careful engineering, Delta has managed to make a relatively lightweight  superyacht with a robust shell plating and frame system with very little weld distortion.

The COUACH 5000 FLY flagship is a real head turner: Hull and super structure fully built in Glass Kevlar, Carbon reinforced, 500 m2 living space, two large upper decks, new generation engines MTU 2 x 5280 HP, top speed over 28 knots, autonomy of 4000 miles at economical speed, she can cross the Atlantic in 10 days and reach speeds unequaled by any other yacht of this dimension.

The Crazy Me, or YN 16250, an all-aluminum, semi-displacement motor superyacht, was presented by Heesen at its Oss facility. The owners threw the YN 16250 a private christening ceremony and a party to celebrate the hard work and superior craftsmanship of those at Heesen who collaborated in the creation of this stunning vessel.

Hana is a mega-yacht with a personality all its own. This unique vessel is the result of a partnership between the technical staff at CRN and the Zuccon International Project Firm, which designed the external layout. The Claude Missir Agency also contributed by making furniture and decor for the vessel's interior.

Vicem is one of the world's principal and most respected builders of classic luxury motor superyachts. All Vicem plants are clean, pleasant factories without unhealthy vapors like the ones that exist in other yacht building factories which use cheaper polyester resins. Its Vulcan Series yachts are built in a state-of-the-art facility in Antalya, Turkey.

Heesen Yachts is happy to announce that the spectacular Galactica Star has completed satisfactorily the sea trials in the North Sea on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th of May. This all-aluminium motor superyacht survived air temperature of 11 degrees Celsius, super strong wind and enormous waves.

Kokomo is the third superyacht from Alloy Yachts for the same owner. The brief was for a yacht that would break new ground in performance, comfort and style.

Designed by Dubois Naval Architects, this 58m sloop delivers in all respects. Her sleek hull has been refined for seakeeping and speed. Her 120 tonne keel lowers from less than 5m to over 8m to deliver ultimate stability under an enormous sail plan.

Silver Arrows Marine, in partnership with Mercedes-Benz Style, has been developing a unusual luxury motor yacht, the first Granturismo of the seas, which was recently given a special place in Italy's revered automotive coach-building industry.

Lady Petra, a Heesen 47m displacement vessel, has won the extremely competitive award for Best Motor Yacht Displacement below 500m, over five of the best yachts in the world.
