This spectacle marked the 10th Feadship Heritage Fleet Rendezvous, an annual event that brings together proud owners of these timeless gems.

For three days, the Netherlands' charming waterways resonated with the spirit of nautical heritage. This year's event put Feadship's exemplary construction standards into the limelight and paid homage to the diligent owners who painstakingly maintain these stunning vessels.

As an ardent observer of the yacht industry, I am thrilled to bring to you news of a veritable icon that has just joined the Camper & Nicholsons charter fleet. Prepare to journey through time as you set sail aboard the magnificent sailing yacht, "Black Swan."

The history of the Black Swan is an intricate tapestry of design, craftsmanship, and ownership spanning over a century. Launched in 1899 from the prestigious Camper & Nicholsons Gosport shipyard, she was designed by the acclaimed Charles E. Nicholson.

The 40.2m classic beauty initially took to the seas as Brynhild, a commissioned piece by John Selwin Calverly, who dreamt of a yacht that was an all-rounder. She was not specifically designed for racing but was adept enough to participate in handicap classes. Charles E. Nicholson excelled at creating a yacht unrestricted by any rating rule, reflecting his innovative and inspired approach to yacht design.

Over the years, Brynhild transitioned hands multiple times, witnessing several modifications, including an engine installation and a conversion from a yawl to a ketch in 1937. That was when Brynhild transformed into the Black Swan, a name she carries with pride to date.

This maritime marvel dons sleek exterior lines, the creative masterstroke of renowned designer Philippe Briand. Her aluminum hull and sophisticated 2019/2021 refit set her apart from her peers. The refit included the installation of a new main engine, two new generators, and a fresh sail wardrobe, preparing her to slice through the waves with renewed grace and power.

A recent digital scan of the shipwreck has unveiled a startling discovery – a necklace bearing the tooth of a Megalodon, the prehistoric leviathan of our oceans. This unexpected find, nestled amidst the Titanic's rusting remains, has ignited a renewed fascination in the world's scientific and luxury communities alike.

The technology facilitating this discovery is a triumph of human ingenuity. Sonny III's new chapter began in 2018 when she was launched, initially as a high-performance cruiser. Built with an experienced owner in mind, she soon attracted the attention of a prominent figurehead in the superyacht industry. With a fresh vision for Sonny III, her previous owner envisioned an upgrade that would truly make her stand out in the sea of luxurious yachts.

Launched in 1997, S/Y Sea Huntress, previously known as Sea Sedan, is a testament to the timeless allure of Feadship yachts. At a length of 54.9 meters, with a beam of 9.6 meters and a draft of 3.2 meters, she presents an imposing figure on the water. Her steel hull and aluminum superstructure, coupled with her powerful twin 1270 hp Caterpillar 3512 Di TA engines, enable a cruising speed of 12 knots and a maximum speed of 15 knots. With a fuel capacity of 100,000 liters and a fresh water capacity of 24,000 liters, she is perfectly equipped for long voyages, boasting a remarkable range of 5000 nautical miles​​​​​.

The search for three missing American sailors and their sailboat off the northern Pacific coast of Mexico has been suspended, according to the U.S. Coast Guard. The sailors, identified as Kerry O'Brien, Frank O'Brien, and William Gross, have been missing since April 4, sparking a massive search operation that spanned nearly 200,000 square miles. The decision to suspend the search comes after the combined efforts of the Mexican navy, known as SEMAR, and the U.S. Coast Guard failed to yield any evidence of the sailors or their vessel. 

The three sailors had embarked on a journey aboard their 44-foot boat, named Ocean Bound, from Mazatlán, a city on Mexico's west coast, with the intention of reaching San Diego. The voyage was expected to include a stop in Cabo San Lucas, a popular destination approximately 224 miles from Mazatlán. The sailors were supposed to report their progress and location on April 6. Unfortunately, there is no record of the mariners reaching Cabo San Lucas or checking in at their intended stop.

As the search efforts for the missing sailors and their boat continue to draw attention and concern from the international yachting community, the families of the missing individuals remain hopeful for their safe return. The case highlights the inherent risks associated with sailing, as well as the importance of the collaboration between the U.S. Coast Guard and the Mexican navy in addressing maritime incidents in the region. This masterpiece was created in collaboration with the renowned Dutch fashion designer and haute couturière Iris van Herpen, known for her work in biomimicry, a design principle that takes inspiration from patterns and shapes found in nature.

The Phantom Syntopia takes its name from Iris van Herpen's landmark 2018 collection, which features a series of highly sculptural garments brought to life through movement and seeks to represent the elusive, ethereal beauty of fluid motion in solid materials through its ‘Weaving Water’ theme. The car's exterior is coated with a one-off Liquid Noir paint iridescent in sunlight, revealing undertones of purple, blue, magenta, and gold when viewed at different angles. This effect was achieved through a new technique for applying pigment to the clearcoat, which took several months of testing and validation to perfect.

Upon opening the coach doors, the eye is immediately drawn to the Weaving Water Starlight Headliner, the most technically challenging version of this signature Rolls-Royce feature ever produced. This headliner was crafted using a single sheet of flawless leather selected from over 1,000 hides, and features a silver ‘liquid metal’ texture made from woven nylon fabric used in Iris van Herpen’s ‘Embossed Sounds’ collection. It is finished with 162 delicate petals made of glass organza, applied by Iris van Herpen’s couture team members who traveled to Goodwood to undertake the work, taking nearly 300 hours to complete.
