Bentley Continental Supersports

Few automobile manufacturers in the world can compete with the sophistication, craftsmanship, and innovation of Bentley. The company has been producing hand-built luxury motorcars for nearly a century, yet manages to create exciting new designs every decade. Bentley has been building Continental Supersports since 2003. Over the years, the manufacturer has improved the vehicle’s features to make it as spectacular as possible. The latest versions of the luxury coupe display features that will impress even the most experienced drivers.

Continental Supersports Cars Have Remarkable Speed and Power

Bentley gives its Continental Supersports models a 6.-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine roaring 700 horsepower and 750 pound-feet of torque. With that much power under the hood, drivers can easily push the Supersports to 336 km/h (209 mph). At this speed, the vehicle can cover the length of a football field in a single second.

The Continental Supersports cars reach peak performance quickly, rushing to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and 100 mph in 7.2 seconds.

Unique Technology Keeps Bentley Supersports Engines Churning

Not many vehicles can create 700 hp. Engines that produce that much power tends to destroy themselves quickly. Intense heat plays havoc with tolerances, thermal coefficients, and precision engineering, causing pistons to melt, oil to break down, and a litany of other performance issues.

Bentley uses a massive amount of air to keep its W12 engine cooled to perfection. The engine can withstand this heat because the car inhales over 500 liters (132 gallons) of air per second. 500 liters of air is equivalent to the amount of air that 1,000 makes when breathing simultaneously. This mad rush of air keeps the engine at a reasonable temperature and prevents malfunctioning.

Bentley Embraces New Technologies Combining Luxury With Safety

A car that can exceed 330 km/h needs advanced features to keep its driver and passengers safe. Nothing is more important to Bentley than the safety of drivers and passengers in its motorcars, as illustrated by the impressive list of features designed to give peace of mind on tight corners at high speed.

The Supersports cars have carbon brakes that can withstand temperatures up to 1,000 degrees Celsius (1,832 degrees Fahrenheit). These high-performance brakes, able to withstand the temperature of molten lava, give Bentley drivers confidence in their ability to stop or slow the car, even under the most demanding circumstances.
