The 2023 Discover Boating® Miami International Boat Show® has once again cemented South Florida's status as a mecca for the marine industry, as the largest boating and yachting event in the world saw strong attendance and sales. Over the course of five days, the event attracted over 100,000 visitors from approximately 35 countries, generating an estimated $1.34 billion for the state.

The event, jointly produced by Informa Markets, the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), and the International Yacht Brokers Association (IYBA), offered attendees diverse experiences, ranging from educational to entertaining and luxurious. Guests were able to explore impressive exhibitions and meet with leading experts in the marine industry, as well as experience hands-on marine innovations at the Nautical Ventures AquaZone and learn about ongoing sustainability efforts at the Costa Conservation Village.

Rossinavi, the acclaimed Italian shipyard, has unveiled its latest project, Alchemy, a stunning 66-meter tri-deck motor yacht. This exquisite vessel results from a fruitful collaboration between Rossinavi and the Founder of Vitruvius Yachts Philippe Briand, responsible for the exterior design. CRN, one of the world's leading shipyards and a part of the Ferretti Group has launched its latest creation, the M/Y 139 megayacht. This 72-meter steel and aluminum vessel boasts an impressive gross tonnage of 1,880 GT. It has been designed and built to the highest standards by CRN in collaboration with renowned design studios Vallicelli Design and Nuvolari Lenard.

This collaboration results in a fully bespoke megayacht that spans six decks and accommodates up to 12 guests and 19 crew members. The M/Y 139 is a true masterpiece of design and engineering, combining form and function in perfect harmony.

This eagerly anticipated event took place earlier this week in a private ceremony, signaling a new chapter for Baglietto's traditional steel displacement yachts.

A Blend of Tradition and Innovation: Hull No. 10238 Takes to the Water

The T52 line represents a seamless fusion of Baglietto's classic design elements and innovative features that cater to the modern market. As the first model in this line, hull No. 10238 showcases a hybrid-propulsion system that allows for efficient cruising while minimizing fuel consumption and environmental impact. In electrical diesel mode, the yacht can achieve a range of up to 7,600 nm and remain at anchor for up to 10 hours using only battery power.

The yacht's two MTU 16V2000M86 engines provide impressive performance, with a maximum speed of 17 knots and a range of 3,600 nm in traditional navigation mode. This groundbreaking achievement is a testament to Baglietto's commitment to advancing research and development in sustainable yachting.

This superyacht is the first to feature the builder’s Featherlight™ design and production method, reducing 11% of the weight compared to their aluminum cruising yachts without compromising stiffness or quality. It was achieved through a range of lightweight solutions combined in a holistic approach that makes Nilaya an ideal high-performance cruiser. The Featherlight™ process employs Finite Element Analysis (FEA), an engineering methodology commonly used in spacecraft design. Leveraging FEA, our team strategically selected construction materials and varying Alustar aluminum plate thicknesses and frame spacings, resulting in increased hull stiffness without significantly increasing boat displacement. In-house weight management was also utilized to optimize mechanical systems, lighting, and insulation to get the most out of our design. Further still, lightweight foam coring was employed for all interior structural members for further weight reduction with minimal sacrifice of sailing performance.

The second unit of the new EXTRA X99 Fast motor yacht has been launched in Ancona. Created by ISA Yachts, this stunning vessel features naval architecture by Palumbo Superyachts and exteriors by Guida Design. Its striking exterior lines make the EXTRA range stand out from the competition.

On January 26th, the Benetti Shipyard in Livorno, Italy, released the FB283, a 62-meter Full Custom Yacht. This steel-hulled and aluminum-superstructure vessel was designed precisely to fulfill the customer’s specifications. Developed by renowned Naval Architect Giorgio Cassetta – including van Oossanen naval Architects’ hull lines – this yacht reflects exemplary craftsmanship and fine details.

FB283, the latest 62-meter vessel from Benetti, debuted with a special private event. This entire custom yacht was built to meet four specific desires of its owner: speed, silence, extended range, and unparalleled fun for their family.
