In Viareggio, the fourth edition of the Mangusta Oceano 39 has been launched. This three-deck vessel joins the builder's displacement series, a line that has found appreciation within the American market. The yacht was developed for an American owner who had previously acquired a vessel from Mangusta. The project resulted from a direct collaboration between the client and the shipyard's design team.
Regarding the launch, Mangusta Americas' President Stefano Arlunno noted, "The launch of this fourth unit is a strategic accomplishment for our brand, confirming Mangusta's leadership position on the US market". He added that the approach involves interpreting the needs of experienced owners by proposing "yachts that combine spaciousness, outstanding performances, and cutting-edge innovations".
Design and Volume
The creation of the Mangusta Oceano 39 involved a team effort between the Mangusta Engineering Department and designer Alberto Mancini. The design blends contemporary styling with a notable internal volume of 330 GT.
The exterior form uses minimalist design with clean lines. On the upper deck, glass gunwales are used. Internally, the spaces are characterized by their brightness, aided by floor-to-ceiling glazed surfaces. Some of these surfaces can be opened, creating a connection between the indoor and outdoor areas.
Key Features and Layout
Certain elements are considered core strengths of the model line.
-
Aft Beach Club: At the water level, an aft beach club is designed with side terraces that open outwards. This space acts as a natural extension of the yacht's daytime areas.
-
Foredeck Pool: The bow contains an infinity pool with a partially glass bottom. This feature allows natural light to pass through and illuminate the master suite located below it.
For this specific unit, the layout was optimized with US market preferences in mind. One such functional solution is the introduction of a central convertible bar within the main salon, intended for convivial moments.
Engineering and Propulsion
Power for the vessel is delivered by two MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines. These engines are specified with a rating of 2600 HP at 2450 RPM. This power plant is selected to provide both speed and a long cruising range.
About the Builder
The Overmarine Group, which produces yachts under the Mangusta brand, was established in 1985 by the Balducci family. The family-run tradition continues with the third generation now involved in the business. The Group operates as the sole owner of the Mangusta brand and its manufacturing sites across Tuscany, in Viareggio, Massa, and Pisa. The company began specializing in the construction of fast composite yachts from 20 to 50 meters and later expanded its range in 2015. At that time, it introduced the Mangusta Oceano and Mangusta GranSport lines, which include displacement and semi-displacement yachts built from steel and aluminum for long-range cruising. To date, over 20 metal vessels have been delivered.
