Baglietto Launches 60-Meter T60 Flagship in La Spezia

The Italian shipbuilding industry celebrated a momentous occasion on March 20, 2026, as Baglietto Shipyard officially launched its new flagship vessel in La Spezia. Hull number 10260, the inaugural unit of the highly anticipated T60 model, has touched the water, marking a definitive step in the company's strategic growth. At 60 meters in length and boasting an internal volume of approximately 1,100 Gross Tonnage (GT), this motor yacht is the largest vessel ever constructed by the historic shipyard, which traces its shipbuilding roots back to 1854.

This delivery sets a new benchmark for the Baglietto brand, currently owned by the Gavio Group, signaling a confident expansion into the larger, high-volume superyacht sector. The T60 platform is designed to meet the evolving demands of Ultra High Net-Worth Individuals (UHNWI) who require expansive living spaces, extended cruising capabilities, and uncompromising luxury.

A Historic Ceremony for the Italian Yachting Community

The launch of the first T60 was an event characterized by regional pride and significant industry attendance. The vessel’s owner, accompanied by family and friends, joined Baglietto's top management and prominent regional authorities to witness the milestone. The gathering included Italian Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Edoardo Rixi, Liguria Region President Marco Bucci, and La Spezia Mayor Pierluigi Peracchini, underscoring the economic and cultural importance of the superyacht industry to the Ligurian coast.

The traditional maritime ceremony featured the Italian national anthem performed by tenor Amadi Lagha, culminating in the breaking of the bottle by godmother Lorena Bianchetti. Beyond the VIP attendees, Baglietto emphasized community integration by opening the shipyard doors to employees, their families, and local school children.

Diego Michele Deprati, CEO of Baglietto, highlighted the significance of the event. “This launch represents an extraordinary milestone for our shipyard and for all the people who work every day with passion to support Baglietto’s growth,” Deprati stated. He further emphasized the importance of inspiring the next generation, noting, “Our task is not only to build ever more ambitious yachts, but also to create opportunities and skills for the new generations who will carry this tradition forward”.

Francesco Paszkowski Design: The Evolution of the T-Line

The visual identity of the T60 was entrusted to Francesco Paszkowski Design, a long-standing partner of the shipyard. The 60-meter vessel serves as the natural, forward-looking evolution of the highly successful T52 model. The exterior lines maintain Baglietto's signature sleekness but are further softened and visually lightened by innovative side structures that appear suspended, seamlessly blending into the external overhangs.

A defining aesthetic feature of the T60 is the prominent black glass band that continuously incorporates the hull portholes. This design choice has become a true leitmotif of Baglietto’s most recent fleet additions, enhancing the yacht's streamlined, aggressive profile on the water.

Redefining Indoor-Outdoor Fluidity

For the interiors, Francesco Paszkowski collaborated with Margherita Casprini to develop a layout that completely reimagines the spatial flow of a 60-meter yacht. The core philosophy was to eliminate the traditional, rigid separation between interior climate-controlled spaces and the exterior marine environment.

This is achieved through the extensive use of full-height windows in both the main salon and the upper deck. These massive glass panels are fully retractable, allowing the living spaces to continuously interact with the sea. This flexibility allows the yacht's atmosphere to evolve throughout the day—functioning as an open, informal beach house during daylight hours and transforming into a highly intimate, representative environment for evening entertaining.

At the stern, the beach area, main salon, and dining room are architecturally conceived as a single, interconnected environment. A massive 60-square-meter beach lounge—featuring a pool, bar, conversation pit, and gym—welcomes guests right at the waterline. A spectacular open staircase leads directly into the main salon, creating a two-level living space of nearly 100 square meters. The adjacent dining room features its own fully opening glass wall, completing this extraordinary water-level oasis.

An Exclusive Upper Deck Owner's Sanctuary

The first Baglietto T60 introduces a particularly original deck configuration aimed at ultimate owner privacy. The entire upper deck is transformed into a fully walkable, dedicated Owners' deck. Access is provided via a central lobby equipped with a modern glass elevator.

The owner's suite is highly appointed, featuring a private office, a spacious walk-in wardrobe, and large bathrooms with separate facilities. The forward-facing sleeping area is surrounded by opening windows on three sides, providing panoramic views and direct access to a private forward pool. Aft of the suite, a private lounge area opens onto an outdoor dining table through fully retractable glass walls. An exclusive Jacuzzi and a sprawling sunbathing area complete the aft section of this deck.

Comprehensive Guest Accommodations and Crew Logistics

The T60 is engineered to provide uncompromising comfort for a full complement of guests, supported by extensive crew logistics:

  • Main Deck: The primary guest accommodations are located here, featuring four luxurious suites comprised of two VIP cabins and two standard guest cabins.
  • Lower Deck: Houses a fifth guest cabin, alongside a dedicated massage room and a large galley specifically designed to support haute cuisine dining. This deck also contains the crew quarters, including a mess, dinette, and seven cabins to accommodate a 13-person crew.
  • Under-Lower Deck: An entirely separate deck dedicated to technical and service operations, ensuring guest areas remain uncluttered. It includes critical storage spaces, a dedicated wine cellar, luggage storage, and large cold rooms for extended provisioning.
  • Sun Deck: Focuses on operational command and elevated relaxation, housing the wheelhouse, the captain’s cabin, an additional dining area, and extensive sunbathing lounges both forward and aft.

Technical Specifications and Future Outlook

Performance and operational independence are critical in the 60-meter segment. The Baglietto T60 is powered by twin CAT 3512 engines. This robust propulsion package allows the 1,100 GT vessel to reach a top speed of 16 knots, while offering a highly efficient cruising speed of 12 knots for long-range passages.

For exploration and shoreside logistics, the garage is strategically situated at the bow of the main deck. This space is voluminous enough to accommodate a 23-foot primary tender, two jet skis, and a dedicated rescue tender. Furthermore, aviation capabilities are supported by a touch-and-go helicopter platform located on the forward deck, ensuring rapid, private access for the owner and VIP guests.

The successful launch of the T60 highlights the massive infrastructural investments Baglietto has made in recent years. The La Spezia headquarters now spans approximately 35,000 square meters and features three new sheds dedicated to vessels up to 65 meters, complemented by a 1,200-ton travel lift—the largest of its kind in Europe. With the T60 in the water, Baglietto firmly confirms its industrial vision, blending Italian tradition with the technical innovation required to compete at the very pinnacle of the international yachting market.
