MY Sparta: A Testament to Dutch Craftsmanship and Elegance

In the realm of bespoke luxury and seafaring prowess, Heesen Yachts has once again made an indelible mark. The renowned Dutch shipyard has unveiled its latest, and by far the largest, steel motor yacht - the imposing YN 20067, christened as MY Sparta. This 67-meter-long, custom-built marvel was launched on June 9, marking a new chapter in Heesen's illustrious narrative of innovation and craftsmanship.

The conception of Sparta was initiated as the 'Project Avanti' concept, which caught the eyes of many at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2018. Masterfully collaborated with Winch Design, this creation maintained its original athletic lines and elegance, with only minor enhancements made to the swimming pool. The result is a uniquely captivating, low-profile, sporty, yet elegant masterpiece, setting the waters on fire with its exceptional design.

Splendidly donned in a classic Snow White livery, Sparta's visual appeal is accentuated by metallic Venetian red and anthracite grey accents. The yacht boasts a reverse bow, lending it an imposing length and a slender profile. This sight of sleek beauty is further elevated by the bold sweep of thermobonded tinted glass running from bow to stern.

"Sparta is a testament to our commitment to delivering the finest superyachts," said Peter van der Zanden, head of engineering at Heesen. The Dutch shipyard, known for its expertise in designing complex custom yachts, has once again outdone itself with this project.

The lifestyle onboard the MY Sparta is all about family, comfort, and togetherness. The full-beam main saloon, connecting seamlessly with the beach terrace, is the heart of social activity on the yacht. Imagine relishing the ocean's vastness from the 6.5m infinity pool or conveniently accessing the water via the transformer passerelle platform.

The 1,200 GT interior, deftly designed by Winch Design, provides for two separate owner's suites, four guest suites, and a wellness area inspired by Japanese aesthetics. The thoughtful arrangement ensures the crew's efficient, unobtrusive operation, elevating the luxury experience.

The interior's theme is a medley of elements - water on the lower deck, earth on the main, and air on the upper deck. The master suite carries a light, airy theme with soft fabrics, sky blues, and mother-of-pearl inlays. All these elements unite under the exquisitely handcrafted cabinetwork from Heesen Yachts Interiors, showcasing premium veneers, precious leathers, and quality fabrics.

"This is the fifth project we have built with Heesen, and the mutual trust that has grown up between us is particularly gratifying," commented Richard Kaye of Arcon Yachts. Sparta will now progress to the final commissioning phases and will soon grace the North Sea for intensive sea trials.
