Perini Navi 25m EcoTender

This is the Perini Navi 25 meter EcoTender, which is the Italian yacht builder's first support motor yacht and due for launch in 2020.

It utilizes a four-mode hybrid propulsion system with an aluminum hull and superstructure.

The sophisticated propulsion system is an innovation developed by Siemens, and there are four modes of operation:

  • Diesel-electric mode utilizes an engine and a generator for providing electricity for two motors to drive water jets
  • Diesel mode power for two Hamilton waterjets to deliver a 30-knots maximum speed
  • Hybrid mode uses one engine to drive a water jet and a generator for driving a motor to power another waterjet
  • Zero-emission mode delivers limited cruising or silent maneuver by using a battery bank for powering two waterjets to deliver a speed of 8-knots.

EcoTender's power systems

All of the Perini Navi EcoTender's power systems can be managed using high-res 4K touchscreens, including a trackball and a jogger.

The screens have been fitted with an augmented reality function, so it's possible to overlap video images with navigation data.

A spokeswoman from the Italian yacht builder said: "This is the first time that an avant-garde hybrid system has been installed on a superyacht tender."

She added that the fuel capacity for the yacht is 9,150 liters, which with a cruising speed of 8 knots, provides a range of 1,000 nautical miles.

The 5.8-meter beam yacht follows a request for a flexible cabin for children's or guests' accommodation from the owners of a larger 52-meter mothership, also built by Perini Navi.

Now, the EcoTender resembles the outfitting and style of the larger yacht, and she carries recognizably traditional Perini Navi lines.

High hull bulwarks

Among the design features are the high hull bulwarks so guests can step from her deck and directly onto the mothership.

Also, her aft cockpit is fitted with sun pads, a lounge zone, and a fixed swim platform. There's also a spacious dinette on the foredeck for the owner to enjoy their passion for nature photography.

The EcoTender also features an advanced navigation system, which is a hallmark for a yacht of her size and has been developed by Team Italia.

The interior has been designed by Perini Navi, utilizing white lacquered joinery and brushed teak.

There's also a full-beam VIP suite with twin- and double-cabins complete with ensuite bathrooms below deck.
