Heesen 56m M/Y Galvas

The 56-meter superyacht Galvas built by Dutch firm Heesen Yachts has been launched.

The custom-designed creation has been built on the Heesen Steel Class platform - with development meeting the owner's lifestyle requirements and tastes - and she has been designed by Jonny Horsfield of British firm H2 Yacht Design.

Formerly known as Project Neptune, she has a stylish and sporty exterior with wing stations, and the mast has been painted in metallic silver.

The hull windows also underline the feeling of speed and agility, with the superstructure having dynamic leading lines. The tender hatches are hidden on the Galvas' bow so that the sleek lines leading to the two decks are uninterrupted.

The interior design was carried out by Reymond Langton, complete with custom artworks from the team at DKT.

Galvas has six luxurious staterooms

The Galvas has six luxurious staterooms to accommodate 12 guests on board in a refined and elegant interior.

On the main deck is the owner's 85 square meter suite, which features its own steam room, office, and gym.

On the lower deck are four double cabins, and there is guest accommodation on the bridge deck and room for up to 13 staff members.

A spokesman for Heesen said: "Galvas is a shining example of the performance capabilities and design freedom that is available to clients who opt for one of our proven engineering platforms.

"This choice offers the opportunity of expressing creativity in the exterior lines, paired with a layout that complements perfectly an individual's lifestyle and is completed by an interior design that reflects and enhances an owner's joie de vivre."

System to reduce harmful exhaust emissions

She is also the second project from Heesen to feature a system to reduce harmful exhaust emissions and meet the latest IMO Tier III regulations with an SCR catalytic system.

Her construction commenced in January 2017 with an aluminum superstructure, and the sea trials were completed in the North Sea. She is capable of a top speed of 15.5 knots and has a comfortable cruising speed of 13 knots to deliver a range of 3,100 nautical miles.

The Galvas' efficiency and speed have been attributed to the FDHF hull shape created by Van Oossanen Naval Architects on which she is built.
