Heesen unveils its latest 55m Steel class

This impressive superyacht is ‘Vida’ which has been built by Dutch boat builders' Heesen.

The 55 meters Steel class offering from the firm is set to undergo sea trials in the North Sea before cruising the Mediterranean and making her official debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September.

It's likely to attract lots of loving glances with the clean profile by Frank Laupman of Omega Architects, and that is down to the absence of fashion plates with enhanced floor-to-ceiling windows, so the interior is flooded with natural light.

The owner is an experienced American yachtsman, and he has worked closely with Heesen's technical team to customize the yacht.

Indeed, one of the unusual features for the Vida is the ability to recharge and refuel the owner's two sport fishing boats to enable them to remain at sea without returning to base.

The interior has been created by Florida's Be Design Associates in their inaugural yachting interior, and they were tasked with creating a 'home-from-home' ambiance.

The team has used natural materials and finishes along with a warm color palette to create sophisticated and yet comfortable surroundings.

On the lower deck, there are five suites able to accommodate 12 guests and the owner's stateroom is a magnificent 18 sqm in size on the main deck.

For those boarding Vida, there is a stunning backlit onyx arch in the yacht's main saloon to create a remarkable effect.

The Vida has a maximum speed of 16 knots and at 13 knots has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles, thanks in part to the progressive hull designed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects.

In many ways, the Vida sets a new standard for superyacht performance with optimized efficiency and magnificent levels of comfort and for those to get to enjoy even a brief stay onboard they will see what is an all-round excellent offering.
