Heesen 51m Irisha

Irisha, one of the newest builds by the Dutch shipbuilding yard Heesen Yachts, was created in the mould of two distinct statements. The first by the owner who stated that the yacht was to be “fairly aggressive and dynamic” and the second by Heesen Yachts themselves whose credo reads; “At Heesen, we don’t just build yachts. We turn dreams into reality.” That’s all it took for one of the more interesting and certainly more dynamic motor yachts to hit the water in recent memory. As for “fairly aggressive” we note that during sea trials Irisha was able to achieve top speeds of 26.1 knots. For a semi-displacement motor yacht that’s impressive and even more impressive is her ability to accelerate quickly and to maintain a high speed surprisingly well especially for a ship of her size. But speed is not all that sets this luxury yacht aside. Her distinct design and styling make Irisha unique and very compelling.

The yacht was designed by the design team at Heesen with the interior and exterior styling done Harrison Eidsgaard. The company was founded in 2005 and has quickly risen to become one of the most sought-after names in the superyacht design industry. Its Directors Peder Eidsgaard, Ewa Eidsgaard, and Ben Harrison have varied backgrounds which have been brought together to form this dynamic trio, and their creative signature is an integral part of the success of Irisha. From her graceful bow to the sleek sweep of her transom this motor yacht means business.

Irisha has four levels, each serving a different and practical purpose. The lower deck houses the guts of the ship; the two massive MTU 16V 4000 M93L diesel engines which can power the ship effortlessly at 11 knots. The space is shared by two generators along with other equipment that powers not only the yacht but all the systems that are there to provide maximum enjoyment and comfort for the owner and guests. The lower deck also houses the guest suites. There are two double guest suites and two twin suites. Very cleverly the twin rooms, thanks to a sliding partition, can be transformed into a full-beam VIP suite with a double bed and sofa corner. You ascend from the lower deck to the main deck via an elegant stairway and find yourself in the very heart of the yacht.
