“Tis” the Season: Lürssen’s 111-meter Project Palo Alto Beautifully Decked Out for Sea Trials

Six stunning decks stretching along Lürssen’s latest launch give the owners of superyacht Tis every reason to celebrate. With nine gracious staterooms, Tis will beautifully carry 18 guests in posh superyacht style from the hand of London-based Andrew Winch Design.

A handsome profile displaying graceful sweeps of superstructure in deck-defining waves, Tis was launched from Lürssen’s Rendsburg facility in August, followed by a quiet tech launch in October. Her long, expertly crafted sheerline and 16.85-meter beam speak well of her seakeeping qualities. Undergoing sea trials in the Baltic, Tis is expected to be delivered this winter.

An elegant entertainer, Tis seems well-suited to festive itineraries engaging large guest lists. Dramatically curved stairways to port and starboard from the transom to the aft main deck embrace guests upon arrival. Helipads on the forward main and on the sundeck increase options for arrivals. A submarine, 12-meter pool, resort-inspired spa, massage room, gym, Jacuzzi, lift, and cinema offer a wide range of activities, pampering and entertaining even the most discriminating of guests. Two 13-meter tenders await in the garage, assisted by two 10-meter tenders, to ensure guest transport and supplies arrive in timely comfort.

Tis boasts abundant glazing across all decks, with cleverly cupped decks on main and upper. Some of the undulating curves of the superstructure are fitted with louvers, often placed for protection from weather as well as privacy. Exceptionally high ceilings add to the volume of the interior. The owner’s deck is bright and spacious, ensuring privacy and comfort while cruising in the company of a large guest list.

Created by Lürssen, the project was managed by Moran Yacht and Ship for a seasoned owner with years of superyacht chartering experience. Also known as Project Palo Alto, Tis sports traditional exterior lines accented with deck-softening curves executed in steel and aluminum, displaying a crisp navy hull accented by bright white and silver superstructure.

Tis is the fourth exterior collaboration between Lürssen and Andrew Winch. Forthcoming superyachts from Lürssen include the 140-meter Nuvolari and Lenard Project Redwood with a 2019 completion schedule, and the 116-meter Project Testarossa expected to be completed in 2022. Winch Design is working with Nobiskrug and Sinot Exclusive Yacht design on a 77-meter project following the unveiling of Cosmos and XVenture at the Monaco Yacht Show.
