Heesen Launched VanTom 50m

Love was in the air on February 14th, 2018, at Hessen Yachts as VanTom was delivered in international waters. She is a spectacular 50m/164’ motor superyacht. Her sea trails were conducted in the rough winter waters of the North Sea in January 2018, with waves up to one meter. Captain David Burge comments that her performance in the trails were extremely successful and that she ran very smooth. He looks forward to her maiden voyage to the Mediterranean Sea and the summer cruising season. The yacht’s designer is Frank Laupman at Omega Architects with the naval architect by Van Oossanen & Associates.

The interior design is by award winning Francesco Paszkowski. Twelve guests in six cabins can be accommodated in the spacious VanTom with a crew of nine. The master suite is located on the main deck with awesome views to the outside while five guest suites are below decks. The yacht’s interior is a beautiful contemporary design and her personality reflected in elegant hand-crafted wood furniture and finishing’s. Dutch Heesen is proud that VanTom has an impressive top speed of 23.3 knots; this is .3 over the original contracted speed. She is the sixth yacht in the 50m semi-displacement class of the 5000 Aluminum Class. She is hailed to be a revolutionary offering with a highly efficient hard-chine hull and propulsion system. Being quiet and vibration-free will provide an enjoyable journey while having a range of 3,100 nautical miles, beam of 9m and a gross tonnage below the 500GT threshold. The semi-custom business model used by Heesen provided an effective and fortunate relationship with the Owner who was complementary of the relationship built on trust and respect.
