Twenty-nine months ago, Lürssen laid the keel for its newest motor yacht, Orchid. After a successful technical launch in 2013, Lürssen put the finishes touches on Orchid. Now the company plans to conduct extensive sea trials before delivering her to her owner in fall 2015. Once complete, this will be the second yacht delivered by Lürssen this year.
Lürssen worked closely with Reymond Langton Design to create bold aesthetics for Orchid's interior and exterior. Open space and natural lighting dominate her interior. Her exterior has a sculptural design that makes her one of the most attractive yachts in recent memory. Some of Orchid's most noteworthy features include an extensive spa facility, luxurious VIP suites, an expansive beach club, and fold down balconies that give guests easy access to the ocean air.
Y.CO coordinated the project to bring in some of the world's most talented engineers and designers. Now that Lürssen has finished building Orchid, Y.CO will oversee the transition to her owners so they can set out on the inaugural voyage.
