Benetti Yachts’ 47m Panthera

When Benetti released the first yacht in its 500 series during 2010, the company embarked on an adventure that would push it to increasingly beautiful, high-performance boats. Benetti continues the adventure with Panthera, the second yacht in this exquisite series.

Panthera is a 47-meter aluminum yacht that exudes refinement. While some owners want yachts that show off every possible luxury, Panthera's owner wanted a classic style that avoided opulence. This clear vision helped Benetti create Panthera without turning to any outside designers.

Life on the Benetti M/Y Panthera

Benetti built Panthera with four decks, giving her guests plenty of room to enjoy themselves during long and short voyages.

All guest cabins are found on the lower deck. Panthera's four guest cabins can accommodate up to eight people. Each cabin has its own ensuite bathroom. That's fairly common in yachts of this size, but Panthera always finds a way to stand out from the crowd. Each bathroom has its own Bisazza mosiac. Bisazza makes some of the finest contemporary mosaics in the world, so each bathroom is like a work of art.

The owner's suite occupies the full-beam and offers a wonderful view of the surrounding water. The owner's suite also has several features that make it special, even in the world of luxury yachts. Panthera's owner's suite leads to a private exterior lounge. One can only access the lounge through the owner's suite. This gives the owner privacy at all times, even when sitting outdoors while docked.

The owner also has the benefit of a large walk-in closet and an office that gives him the perfect place to relax with a book or complete business details while traveling. Of course, the suite also has its own bathroom. Not surprisingly, the owner's bathroom has the most stunning Bisazza mosaic on the yacht.

The upper deck offers a large exterior area where guests can relax on couches. This area connects to a covered skylounge, where guests can enjoy the outdoors even when the sun hangs high. The skylounge has many special features that make it a prime destination for guests. In addition to the sun protection, it offers a media room with some of the latest audio-visual equipment. The media room has a 46-inch flatscreen television and a top-of-the-line stereo sound system that features a vintage turntable.
With some minor rearrangement, the skylounge becomes a disco club, complete with strobe lights and RGL LEDs. When the owner wants to host a dance party, this is the place to go.

Guests who prefer lounging in the sun can visit the sundeck, which has a large sunpad where they can stretch out and relax. The sunpad also features a corner bar for refreshments.

One of Panthera's most unique features is a custom trampoline located on the swimming platform. The platform also has several deck chairs and a shower. It's a self-contained area where guests can have fun in the water, wash the salty water off their bodies, and return to the luxury of Panthera.

Interior Design and Decorations

Panthera's design team benefitted from the owner's decisiveness when it came to interior aesthetics. Every aspect of the interior has been carefully chosen. No matter which room a person enters, he or she can find something special.

Many of the rooms and hallways feature fashion photography. These photographs vary significantly. Some are black and white while others are in full color. Some are large while others are small. Some hang unframed while others have professional framing. The images have at least one thing in common: they all portray the appeal of femininity.

The main saloon, cabins, and other major areas have fabulous furniture, lighting, and fabrics. The fabrics and lamps come from Armani Casa. Armani Casa also designed Panthera's 10-person dining room table. The table's chairs come from B&B, another classic Italian design company.
Panthera's Performance and Specs

Benetti M/Y Panthera offers the owner and his guests a pleasant, fun way to experience the world by sea. Guests can go about their days completely unaware of the engineering that keeps them safe and comfortable. That's the sign of a well-designed ship that uses the latest technology. It works so well that no one even notices it.

Panthera has an MTU engine that reaches 2,880 kW at 2,050 RPM. That gives her a cruising speed of 22 knots and a maximum speed of 24 knots. At cruising speed, she has a 1,140 nautical mile range. Cutting the speed to 12 knots gives her a range of 3,400 nautical miles. That's enough for her to travel practically anywhere in the world as long as the captain planes to stop for refueling in carefully chosen ports.

The engine sends power to two Detra propellers with five fixed blades.

During long trips, the guests and crew members can rely on Panthera's large water tank and water maker to keep them hydrated and happy. The tank holds 3,170 gallons (12,000 liters) of fresh water. She also has a grey water tank that can hold 1,749 gallons (6,620 literes).

Panthera stands out as one of Benetti's highest achievements. The lightweight aluminum design helps make her a high-performance craft. Careful attention to detail makes her a sophisticated place for the world's most refined tastes. She manages to retain that sophistication without veering into the world of opulence.

Anyone lucky enough to board Panthera as a guest of the owner gets to enjoy travel in ultimate comfort and beauty. There's hardly a better way to travel the world than in one of Benetti's top yachts.
