Princess 40m Imperial Princess, spaciousness and design

Princess isn't the type of company that makes bold claims about its yachts. Princess has been making boats for nearly 50 years. During those years, the company made adjustments to its building and design processes while keeping an open ear to what clients wanted next.

After a long line of yachts, Princess unveils its 40-meter, semi-customizable yacht, the Imperial Princess. 40 meters makes her a rather small ship compared to those superyachts that could double as floating hotels. Through an innovative approach, though, Prince Yachts has given this small ship more space one can immediately spot.

Adding Space to a Small Yacht

Imperial Princess has drop-down balconies that give the owner and his guests extra space during parties. The drop-down balcony also makes the perfect location for formal dining, entertaining, or just taking in the ocean view.

Imperial Princess's sleek exterior design also hides a large amount of space arranged under the deck. The yacht has three decks with rooms arranged to give guests exceptional comfort and space. Despite her small size, she has been so uniquely designed that she can carry 12 guests and seven crew members without making anyone feel crowded.

Specifications of Imperial Princess

While Imperial Princess has a wonderfully designed interior, let's satisfy the needs of those interested in how the yacht operates before exploring her aesthetics.

Imperial Princess carries two Onan 80kW generators and two MTU 12V 4,000 M93L engines. With a 29,345-liter (7,752-gallon) fuel capacity and a water tank capable of carrying up to 5,000 liters (1,321 gallons), she has a 1,500 nm range when traveling at 12 knots.

When pushed to her limits, Imperial Princess can reach a maximum of 23 knots. This speed, of course, burns more fuel, which reduces her range.

Imperial Princess has an ABT TRAC 440 stabilizer and two ABT TRAC thrusters.

Life Aboard Imperial Princess

Life aboard Imperial Princess is all about luxury and enjoyment. To make the ship as perfect as possible, Princess Yachts recruited help from Bannenberg & Rowell, an expert design group dedicated to making Imperial Princess one of its best creations.

The sundeck offers plenty of comfortable places for people to lounge. It also features a bar, a spa pool, and an opening hardtop that can protect people from harsh sun rays. At the foredeck, guests will find plenty of water toys stored in a large hatch. When they return to the ship after a few hours splashing in the water, they can relax on the sun pads placed on top of the hatch.

The upper saloon has a modern feel that encourages guests to relax with a drink or settle in for long conversations. On pleasant days and evenings, the owner can open the saloon so that the aft deck becomes a seamless extension of the interior. Even when closed, the glass offers wonderful views of the water and sea air.

For an extra dose of extravagance, Bannenberg & Rowell added a grand central staircase that connects the decks to each other. The crew has separate stairs so they can work without disturbing guests.

Imperial Princess has enough space to accommodate up to 12 guests. The guest cabins offer exceptional comfort and privacy. Since Imperial Princess is a semi-custom yacht, new owners can have cabins arranged to meet their own specifications. Buyers get to choose colors, fabrics, and other decorative elements that make the boats uniquely their own.

The owner's suite shows off how much attention Bannenberg Rowell pays to detail and craftsmanship. The suite has a large room that captures natural light from several windows. At night, recessed lighting makes it the perfect space for relaxing at the end of a long day. A wide bed, two chairs, and a small table turn the suite into a place where the owner can escape the pressures of daily life and playing host to his guests.

The owner's suite contains a small office complete with desk, bookshelves, and television. This lets the owner take care of business during longer journeys. Sometimes, a trip away from the office inspires great ideas. This study area gives the owner an excellent place to capture those ideas.

The suite also has an elaborately decorated head with a full bath and shower. A walk-in wardrobe lets the owners browse their clothing options to fit whatever activities they have planned.

Imperial Princess: A Standout Yacht

40 meters might not put Imperial Princess in the superyacht category, but Princess Yachts has found inventive ways to expand interior and exterior spaces while keep her sleek and beautiful. She's a small jewel in a vast body of water, but her small size only makes her more captivating.
