The Perini Cup 2013 took place in Porto Cervo, Sardinia, last week, from the 28th to the 31st of August. The spectacular setting provided by the beautiful scenery and the exclusive Yacht Club Costa Smeralda was especially inspiring for the crew of SY Silencio.
The majestic 50m Superyacht Silencio, formerly Perseus, honored her motto "sometimes with the wind, sometimes against it" when she won the luxury sailboat racing event for the first time in a hard-fought battle in the Mediterranean Sea, leaving behind the winner of the previous two editions, clipper Maltese Falcon. For the first race, her time was 01:38:32 and, for the second race, she achieved an enviable time of 01:22:05. Silencio's outstanding performance is due, in part, to her two 979 HP engines which can help her reach a cruising speed of 13 knots and a maximum speed of 15 knots. The four cabins of the boat can comfortably accommodate her crew of 9 experienced members.

Sleek Luxury Superyacht P2 took the second place at the Perini Cup 2013 - a great honor for this 38m boat which can thank Silencio, or its former self Perseus, for her existence. The owner and his family sailed Perseus in 2001 and 2002 and learned how to race aboard the 50m ketch. When the time came to find a yacht to channel the future owner's passion for racing and cruising, Perini Navi together with Phillipe Briand created the concept of what would later become P2. Don't let her small frame trick you: this elegant cruiser is fast and agile. Her MAN D2876 LE402 engine allows her to reach a cruising speed of 10 knots and a maximum speed of 13 knots, which, combined with her easy to maneuver hull, aided her in getting the 2nd place in Perini's sailboat racing regatta. P2's times were: 01:39:04 for the first race and 01:28:56 for the second one.

56 m aluminum ketch Parsifal IV, formerly Selene, took the 3rd place at the Perini Cup 2013 with the following times: 01:44:23 for the first race and 01:26:36 for the second one. She boasts two CAT C32 engines which allow her to reach a maximum speed of 15.6 knots.
