Seawolf X Redefining the Rules of Yachting

More than a yacht, Seawolf X represents Rossinavi’s vision of what the future of yachting can become. This 42.75-metre full-aluminium hybrid-electric catamaran introduces a new approach to luxury cruising, where innovation, sustainability and onboard comfort are conceived as a single integrated experience. Designed entirely as a bespoke project, Seawolf X combines the exterior architecture of Fulvio De Simoni Yacht Design, the refined interiors by Meyer Davis Studio, and Rossinavi’s engineering expertise into a yacht that challenges conventional thinking without compromising elegance or performance. The project is the result of years of research into alternative propulsion systems, intelligent energy management and environmental responsibility, while remaining faithful to the shipyard’s philosophy of full-custom construction.

Unlike many sustainability projects that begin with propulsion technology, Seawolf X started from a different question: how can technology improve the owner’s experience at sea while simultaneously reducing environmental impact? Rossinavi’s ambition was not simply to build another hybrid yacht, but to recreate aboard a motor yacht the silence, comfort and close connection with nature traditionally associated with sailing, without sacrificing the space, autonomy and freedom expected from a modern superyacht. As Federico Rossi explains, technology should remain almost invisible to the owner, quietly working in the background to optimise every aspect of life on board while allowing guests to simply enjoy the experience. This philosophy became the foundation of the Sea Cat platform and ultimately shaped every design and engineering decision behind Seawolf X.

This vision also gave rise to Rossinavi’s BluE Philosophy, introduced in 2022 as the shipyard’s long-term commitment to a more conscious way of cruising. Inspired by the remarkable ability of phytoplankton to harness sunlight and transform it into energy, BluE reimagines the yacht as an intelligent ecosystem where solar energy is collected throughout the day, stored in advanced battery systems and managed efficiently to maximise electric navigation while reducing emissions. Rather than treating sustainability as a compromise, BluE integrates environmental responsibility directly into the luxury experience. Seawolf X can operate in full-electric mode during day trips, cruise electrically for approximately 90% of multi-day itineraries and complete transatlantic crossings with around 80% electric operation. When moored, the yacht enters a dedicated hibernation mode that minimises energy consumption while allowing surplus solar energy generated by the onboard photovoltaic system to be transferred ashore.

Supporting this philosophy is Rossinavi AI, a proprietary machine learning platform developed over more than two years in collaboration with specialised technology partners. Rather than replacing human decision-making, Rossinavi AI acts as an intelligent assistant for both guests and crew. It continuously analyses navigation routes, weather forecasts, sea conditions, battery status, onboard energy consumption and hotel operations while gradually learning guests’ habits and preferences. By processing this information, the system can recommend more efficient departure times, optimise energy-intensive onboard activities, maximise the use of solar energy and maintain the batteries within their ideal operating range, extending both efficiency and longevity. Through continuous interaction with the crew, Rossinavi AI progressively personalises the onboard experience while encouraging lower-impact operational choices without ever compromising comfort or luxury. Technology, in this sense, becomes almost invisible: it quietly works in the background to simplify operations and allow owners and guests to focus solely on enjoying their time at sea.

The catamaran platform itself plays a fundamental role in shaping the onboard experience, offering exceptionally generous interior volumes while maintaining a remarkably elegant profile. The lower deck is divided into two independent hulls, each housing guest accommodation to maximise privacy, while the expansive 80-square-metre main salon creates an open and naturally lit social environment. The 70-square-metre owner’s suite features a private gym, walk-in wardrobe, skylight and direct access to a transformable private terrace, offering an unprecedented level of comfort and exclusivity. Outdoor living remains equally central to the concept. A fully enclosed beach club with swimming pool and sauna sits at water level, while the main deck cockpit revolves around a second pool and generous entertaining areas. Above, the 130-square-metre sundeck integrates 202 custom-designed solar panels seamlessly into its architecture, demonstrating how advanced technology can become part of the yacht’s design language rather than appearing as a purely technical addition.

Fulvio De Simoni approached Seawolf X with the ambition of redefining the aesthetic language of large luxury catamarans. Rather than emphasising the vessel’s beam, the design celebrates flowing, automotive-inspired lines, a low-profile silhouette and a partially recessed wheelhouse that maximises visibility while preserving the yacht’s sleek proportions.

Carefully integrated lighting further enhances the sculptural quality of the hull, creating an appearance that is both contemporary and timeless. As Fulvio De Simoni explains, “We set out to imagine the boat of the future—one that breaks free from traditional constraints while remaining entirely achievable. Our goal was to integrate cutting-edge technology that minimises environmental impact without compromising innovation.”

The interiors, created by New York-based Meyer Davis Studio, translate Rossinavi’s sustainability philosophy into a refined residential atmosphere defined by understated elegance and natural comfort. Drawing inspiration from hospitality projects such as 1 Hotel South Beach, the designers selected responsibly sourced materials including wire-brushed wood, woven raffia wall coverings and recycled wool rugs. Scandinavian influences combine with warm tones, tactile textures and exceptional craftsmanship to create spaces that feel welcoming, sophisticated and timeless. Rather than making sustainability an explicit visual statement, the interiors express it through authenticity, carefully considered materials and enduring design, allowing environmental consciousness to emerge naturally throughout the yacht.

Seawolf X is not conceived as an isolated project but as the first chapter of Rossinavi’s next technological evolution. It brings together decades of expertise in lightweight construction, hybrid propulsion and advanced energy management into a single platform that demonstrates how environmental responsibility can elevate—rather than limit—the superyacht experience. More than a showcase of engineering, Seawolf X embodies Rossinavi’s belief that conscious luxury is not about asking owners to compromise, but about making technology intelligent enough that sustainability becomes an effortless and natural part of life on board. It is this philosophy that defines Seawolf X and continues to shape Rossinavi’s vision for the future of yachting.
