Italian shipbuilder ISA Yachts, a key brand within the Palumbo Superyachts portfolio, has officially expanded its performance lineage with the technical launch of M/Y Fast Naan in Ancona. Marking the first hull in the newly developed ISA Viper 130 series, the 38.8-metre planing yacht was introduced before an audience consisting of her American owners, private guests, and the technical personnel responsible for her construction. The buyer was introduced to the shipyard by brokerage firm Zarpo Yachts.

Built with a glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) hull strategically strengthened with carbon-fibre structural elements, the Viper 130 represents an intentional push to harmonize rapid sprint capabilities with multi-deck spatial comfort. The premiere vessel is scheduled to make its public international debut at the upcoming Cannes Yachting Festival 2026, followed immediately by official industry presentation at the Monaco Yacht Show 2026.

 

Waterjet Propulsion and Technical Marine Architecture

Engineered to operate at high velocities without sacrificing hydrodynamic efficiency, M/Y Fast Naan is powered by a triple-engine mechanical powertrain. The installation combines three MAN V12X internal combustion engines, with each unit producing 2,200 hp. This delivers a total mechanical output of 6,600 hp transferred to the water via two Marine Jet Power (MJP) steerable waterjets alongside a centerline MJP booster unit.

This powertrain combination propels the 38.8-metre hull to a maximum velocity of 33 knots, maintaining an efficient long-range planing cruise of 26 knots. The naval architecture was developed in-house by ISA Yachts in collaboration with Studio Ing. Arnaboldi, an engineering studio renowned for high-speed hull forms, ensuring that weight distributions and running trim remain optimal throughout the entire acceleration curve.

Exterior Profiling and Interior Design by Fulvio De Simoni

The exterior aesthetics of the ISA Viper 130 were developed jointly by ISA Yachts and veteran designer Fulvio De Simoni, who also took charge of the entire interior architecture. The yacht features taut, muscular lines that immediately communicate her high-speed capabilities while maintaining the proportion and balance required of modern luxury builds.

Inside the vessel, the styling focuses on fluidity, natural illumination, and an open layout. Moving forward from the aft deck, guests encounter an internal bar setup that opens directly into the main saloon. This central entertaining space is characterized by opening floor-to-ceiling panoramic glazing that spans the full height of the superstructure, maximizing natural lighting and preserving continuous sightlines out to the sea.

The saloon layout is divided into two distinct, informal lounging areas tailored for social gatherings, ensuring that the interior atmosphere remains fluid and relaxed. The primary bridge and navigational wheelhouse are positioned forward on the main deck, keeping operational helm functions separate from primary guest areas.

 

The Tri-Level Terraced Aft Cockpit and Open Balconies

One of the primary architectural achievements of the ISA Viper 130 is its three-tier aft cockpit arrangement, configured to connect guests closely with the water while underway or at anchor. Rather than relying on a conventional flat transom, the deck steps down gradually toward the sea:

  • The Beach Platform: Positioned directly at the water line, the lowest tier acts as a dedicated sea-level beach club. It integrates a multi-functional hydraulic transformer platform that operates interchangeably as an automated swim ladder and an extended boarding passerelle.
  • The Expanded Sea Terrace: Ascending two lateral steps leads to the second tier, anchored by an aft-facing central sunpad and a residential-style lounge furnished with deep sofas and coffee tables. On either beam, the hull bulwarks feature hydraulic folding mechanisms; deploying these twin side balconies significantly widens the usable footprint, transforming the cockpit into an expansive open terrace directly over the sea.
  • Al Fresco Dining and Convertible Galley: The uppermost aft cockpit tier is arranged for sheltered outdoor gastronomy, featuring a dining table setup capable of seating up to 10 guests.

A key operational innovation on this dining level is the direct integration of an aft galley equipped with an adjacent cocktail bar. The galley bulkhead incorporates an electrically operated, switchable smart-glass partition. When clear, it allows the chef to engage with guests during live culinary demonstrations or informal cocktail events; when frosted to opaque mode, it fully encloses the preparation area to provide privacy during formal service.

 

Asymmetrical Circulation and Private Foredeck Lounge

To maximize interior main-deck volume without compromising exterior crew operations, ISA Yachts implemented an asymmetrical exterior circulation strategy. Forward access from the cockpit toward the bow is concentrated exclusively along the port side deck. This design decision eliminates the starboard walkway, reclaiming that footprint to expand internal saloon dimensions.

By routing foot traffic cleanly along the port side, the foredeck is transformed into an isolated, self-contained relaxation environment. Positioned atop the forward superstructure, this bow lounge integrates an integrated plunge pool wrapped by sunpads and integrated bench seating, establishing a private enclave distinct from the larger entertaining terraces aft.

Versatile Accommodation for Eleven Guests

Access to the lower deck guest accommodations is reached via a private interior staircase located to the port side of the main deck wheelhouse. M/Y Fast Naan features a 5-stateroom layout configured to host up to 11 guests:

  • Owner's Suite: Spanning the yacht's interior beam, the primary owner's suite incorporates dedicated lounge seating, walk-in storage, and an expansive his-and-hers ensuite bathroom layout featuring two separate private washrooms.
  • VIP Staterooms: Two double guest staterooms, each appointed with private ensuite bathrooms and storage facilities.
  • Twin Guest Cabins: Two additional twin staterooms with private ensuites, one of which integrates an additional fold-down Pullman berth to accommodate family cruising requirements.

Crew accommodations are accessed independently via a dedicated companionway situated within the working galley. This configuration keeps crew workflows separate from guest spaces. The crew area accommodates up to six crew members across three ensuite cabins, meeting the operational requirements of an active charter or private itinerary. Tender storage is managed via a side-loading starboard garage engineered to shelter a 5-metre rigid inflatable tender without consuming space on the aft beach platform.

Carbon-Sheltered Sun Deck and Upcoming Debuts

Crowning the yacht's 38.8-metre profile is an open sun deck sheltered forward by a molded carbon-fibre hardtop. This top deck operates as a completely autonomous outdoor living area, featuring an exterior secondary navigation station, an expansive aft sunpad, an open-air cocktail bar, and an additional dining table suited for 10 guests.

The delivery of M/Y Fast Naan underscores the ongoing production momentum across Palumbo Superyachts, whose maritime operations also encompass the Columbus, Mondomarine, and Extra Yachts brands. ISA Yachts is currently moving forward on two custom 80-metre superyachts under construction in Ancona, which will soon assume the mantle of shipyard flagships.

Following final dockside outfitting and programmatic sea trials along the Adriatic coastline, M/Y Fast Naan will cross to the French Riviera for her public unveiling at the Cannes Yachting Festival and the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2026.
