Winch Design and Mani Frers Reveal 35m Sailing Concept

Flowform: Winch Design and Mani Frers Unveil a 35m Sailing Sculpture at Monaco Yacht Show 2025

Monaco, September 24, 2025 – Winch Design and Frers Design have debuted Flowform, a 35-metre sailing yacht concept, at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025. Presented through an immersive installation in the Design & Innovation Hub, the unveiling introduced a vision of sailing that unites nature, performance, and artistry in a seamless whole.

A Sailing Yacht Inspired by the Rhythm of Nature

Flowform takes its name from the essence of flow itself, translating the movements of light, air, and water into a yacht conceived as a “living sculpture.” The exterior, shaped by Mani Frers, expresses dynamic curves in white, teak, and glass. It blends timeless sailing lines with advanced technology and sustainability features, reinforcing Frers’ reputation for balancing performance and elegance.

The transparent deckhouse is a defining element, serving both as a skylight and as an architectural feature that connects guests with the sailing action. A flush deck with twin helms and a working cockpit aft ensures efficient handling, while a full-beam tender garage integrated into the transom adds practical versatility for leisure and exploration.

Interiors by Winch Design

Inside, Winch Design crafted an environment inspired by the elements of wind, water, and light. Curved architectural lines recall the flow of air across sails, while wave motifs and soft metallic accents evoke the shimmer of the sea. Natural materials, from warm walnut and koto to bleached oak, are paired with tactile fabrics and fine leather, creating an atmosphere of understated luxury.

At the heart of the yacht, the open-plan salon integrates lounge, dining, and study spaces, illuminated by skylights that flood the interior with daylight. A stepped mast feature enhances the sense of spatial drama. The owner’s suite, defined by a sculpted Foglizzo leather headboard and a wave-inspired ceiling, offers an intimate retreat with a framed view of the sails overhead. The ensuite continues the organic design language with a floating vanity and contoured detailing.

A Balance of Performance and Comfort

With accommodation for eight guests and five crew, Flowform has been conceived as both a high-performance cruising yacht and a contender for the world’s most prestigious regattas. Frers’ naval architecture promises seaworthiness and speed, while Winch Design’s interiors ensure the yacht is equally suited to private family voyages or luxury charter.

A Collaboration of Icons

The partnership between Winch Design and Mani Frers unites two legacies in yacht design. Frers, a third-generation designer with America’s Cup and Volvo Ocean Race pedigree, brings a lineage of innovation and competitive performance. Winch Design, founded in 1986, has become synonymous with bespoke artistry in yachts, aviation, and residences. Together, they have crafted a sailing yacht concept that is both technologically progressive and emotionally evocative.

“Flowform is more than a sailing yacht; she is a sculpture in motion, born from the rhythm of nature and designed to move in harmony with the elements,” the two studios said in their joint presentation.

Unveiled against the backdrop of Monaco, Flowform signals a new direction in sailing yacht design—one that marries artistic vision with functional innovation, offering owners a vessel as unique as it is powerful.
