Baglietto Launches First DOM115: A 35-Meter Superyacht Blending Custom Luxury with Expansive Volume

La Spezia, Italy – In a significant move for the semi-displacement yacht sector, Italian shipyard Baglietto has successfully launched the first unit of its new DOM115 line. The 35-meter motor yacht, which touched the water in recent days at the La Spezia facility, represents the entry-level model in the acclaimed DOM series, known for its emphasis on volume, livability, and connection to the sea.

This inaugural DOM115, built with a robust steel and aluminum hull, is a clear evolution of the design language established by its larger and highly successful predecessor, the DOM133. With exterior styling by the renowned Stefano Vafiadis, the yacht features contemporary, sporty lines that encapsulate impressive volumes, a characteristic that sets it apart in its size category.

The launch marks a strategic step for Baglietto, aiming to make high-end customization more accessible to a broader client base without compromising the shipyard's legacy of excellence and craftsmanship.

Fabio Ermetto, Baglietto's Chief Commercial Officer, commented on the launch with enthusiasm. “We are excited to see the first 35-meter yacht of our new DOM115 line finally hit the water,” he stated. "This project combines design, innovation, and functionality, created to offer an uncompromising cruising experience. We have the feeling this model will be a great success as it combines the features of a much larger yacht with the operational advantages of a 35m.”

Design and Architecture: A Home on the Water

The core philosophy of the DOM series—a name derived from the Latin Domus, meaning "home"—is to create a "floating villa" that prioritizes comfort, space, and a seamless indoor-outdoor lifestyle. Stefano Vafiadis’s design achieves this through several key architectural choices.

Exterior Excellence and Connection to the Sea

The DOM115’s profile is defined by expansive panoramic windows along the main deck, which not only give the yacht a sleek, modern look but also flood the interior spaces with natural light. A standout feature is the main salon's sliding glass doors, which can be fully concealed to merge the interior living area with the aft deck, creating a single, harmonious space.

This concept of fluidity extends to the upper deck, where a lounge or "veranda" is encased in glass panels that open on three sides, immersing guests in the surrounding seascape. The aft section is ingeniously arranged over three cascading levels that lead down to the water, culminating in a sea-view swimming pool—a feature more commonly found on much larger vessels. To maintain clean deck lines and maximize usable space, the tender is stowed in a side garage.

Key Exterior Features:

  • Three-Level Aft Deck: Creates a terraced beach club environment.

  • Sea-View Pool: Enhances the connection with the water.

  • Convertible Upper Deck Veranda: Offers panoramic views and an open-air experience.

  • Side-Tender Garage: Frees up valuable deck space for guest use.

A Bespoke Interior Journey

While the exterior design sets the stage, the interiors of this first DOM115, crafted by Baglietto’s in-house design team, tell a story of refined, personalized taste. The design is a sophisticated dialogue between luxurious materials, intricate details, and a warm, inviting color palette.

The interior atmosphere is defined by a modern reinterpretation of the Liberty style. This is expressed through:

  • Rich Materials: A base of oak wall paneling and walnut flooring is enriched with warm bronze accents and colonial leather.

  • Cool Contrasts: Glossy blue lacquer and leather details provide a complementary coolness, adding depth to the aesthetic.

  • Fine Marbles: Surfaces feature exquisite Iceberg Blue and Calacatta Blu marble, which merge beautifully with a geometric-patterned walnut parquet.

  • Decorative Elements: Bronzed and fluted glass mirrors and blue lacquered portals frame transitions between spaces, guiding guests through the yacht’s elegant quarters.

The owner’s vision is further realized through the selection of loose furniture from iconic Italian brands such as Bentley Home, B&B Italia, Poltrona Frau, and Giorgetti. These are harmoniously paired with pieces influenced by Anglo-Saxon design from Holly Hunt and FBC, introducing textures like inlaid wood, alabaster, and decorative glass.

Baglietto Redefines the Mid-Range Superyacht with First DOM115 Launch

Technical Specifications and Market Position

Beneath its polished exterior, the DOM115 is engineered for performance and comfort. The yacht is powered by two MAN engines, delivering a maximum speed of 14.5 knots. The use of a steel hull for a yacht of this size provides the stability and comfort of a larger displacement vessel while offering significant flexibility for layout customization.

The launch of the DOM115 comes at a time when the market shows a strong preference for semi-custom platforms that offer a balance of personalization, proven engineering, and faster delivery times. The 30-40 meter segment remains the largest portion of the global superyacht fleet, and the DOM115 is well-positioned to meet the demands of owners seeking the amenities of a larger yacht within a more manageable footprint.

Baglietto has confirmed that the next available DOM115 hull is scheduled for delivery in 2026, and a version with hybrid propulsion is also in development, signaling the shipyard's continued commitment to sustainable technologies.

This new model not only strengthens Baglietto's portfolio but also reinforces its status as a leader in contemporary yacht design, skillfully blending aesthetics, functionality, and forward-thinking innovation.
