Damen Yachting 60m Amels 60 LE

Amels 60LE, Come Together, Pairs Classic Design with Futureproof Features

What makes something an icon? The Beatles. 1969. Abbey Road. All are iconic in their own way. Similarly, the first hull of the Amels 60-meter Limited Edition superyacht, Come Together, shares elements common to legendary status.

First, there is the name. Come Together, the superyacht, hints of a pleasant social gathering place. It also happens to be the title of the first track on the Beatles’ Abbey Road album. Second, the yacht’s distinctive exterior design was created by Espen Øino, one of the yachting industry’s most seminal talents. Third, the yacht’s interiors by Winch Design, another giant in yachting circles, illustrate the firm’s high level of expertise merged with meticulous attention to detail. And the list goes on.

What makes the perceived, aesthetic beauty of Come Together so sublime is the smooth mesh of its form with function, ergonomics, and sustainability. This thoughtful design on a proven platform offered a high degree of customization, comfort, and reliability upon completion, while embracing the future with a dynamic, hybrid design.

Rose Damen, Managing Director at Damen Yachting, noted, “The yachts we are building today will become the collector’s items for tomorrow’s generation of yacht owners.” In agreement, Espen Øino stated, “It’s a dynamic design for the future.” A closer look at Come Together’s details provides important perspective.

Come Together by the Numbers

Delivered as the first hull of the Amels 60 LE, Come Together was launched in March of 2022 at the Amels shipyard in Vlissingen. She is 830 GT, 60.0 meters in length, and 10.4 meters across the beam. Distinctive sets of expansive trapezoidal glazing, a near-vertical bow, and metallic exterior palette confirm her identity. The Pebble Grey steel hull, with Matterhorn White and Super Jet Black aluminum superstructure, present a chic profile.

Naval architecture penned by Damen Yachting, exterior design by Espen Øino and interiors by Winch Design all dovetailed beautifully, creating a yacht that has been frequently recognized by industry peers. Come Together accommodates 12 guests in six suites, served by 13 crew. In addition to the full beam, main deck master, there are five additional guest staterooms. One VIP cabin, two double cabins, and two convertible twin-to-double cabins are outfitted with pleasing natural palettes, textures, and materials.

Come Together is powered by an Amels hybrid electrical propulsion system with energy storage, designed to reduce noise and vibration while also reducing fuel consumption and harmful emissions. In addition to the obvious guest benefits, the system translates to lower fuel and maintenance costs. Come Together runs at a top speed of 15 knots, with a 4,500 nautical mile range at a 13-knot cruise speed. Able to navigate protected waters without harmful emissions, or to depart moorings in relative silence under electric power, she is versatile, considerate, and clever in a variety of situations.

There are large cabinets and lockers for provision stores, garbage management, and wastewater tanks for operating in zero discharge zones. Superior full displacement seakeeping makes for solid performance in a comfortable guest environment. The yacht is Tier III compliant and meets all requirements of the International Maritime Organization for the full range of unrestricted global superyacht cruising.

Two Naiad stabilizer fins with active roll damping ensure both at anchor and underway comfort. Engine exhaust acoustic silencers and thorough engineering assure guests will sleep soundly and conversations will be easy, as noise is minimized. Floating ceilings, walls, and floors provide additional sound insulation.

The drinking water purification system saves up to 50,000 plastic bottles a year, and that’s just for crew. The system also frees up storage space, as the crew fills stainless steel drinking bottles with pleasant tasting, safe drinking water with each guest’s choice of still or sparkling.

Entertainment systems with 43-inch full HD displays and video/audio on demand, satellite TV, telephone, intercom, and internet access ensure guests are enjoying down time online and completing important communications while on board.
