Last week, on March 14th, saw in the morning the launch at Viareggio of the second Benetti Crystal 140' BY002, Luna. An event held on the grounds of the Azimut-Benetti Group's Lusben shipyard, located adjacent to the Benetti headquarter. Following the usual preliminary steps, including the traditional breaking of the bottle on the hull, the yacht was lowered into the water, a ceremony attended by Owner, technical personnel, workers, and all Benetti Management and Staff involved in building this magnificent vessel that stands out for its modern and innovative design.
After the launch Ceremony, Luna proceeded along the canal to the Darsena Italia - Via Coppino in Viareggio - where Benetti organized an private ceremony starting from 7pm in order to celebrate the delivery with the Owner and all his guests.
Benetti Crystal 140' BY002, Luna measures 42 metres in length and 9 metres in width at full beam. Its displacement is 375 tonnes. The engines are twin Cat C32 Acer delivering 1081 kW. And with a fuel reserve of 58,000 litres, the Crystal has a conventional oceanic range of 4,000 miles.
Luna offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 suites. A repartitioning of the lower deck made it possible, thanks also to an extremely functional engine room that offers more space for four guests cabins - two with double beds and two with twin beds, and for the crew area, featuring unheard-of volumes for the comfort of the staff on board.
As for every Benetti mega yacht, this Crystal 140′ is one of a kind. Its inspiring concepts are a special relation with the sea and the love for outdoor life. Comfort, style and functionality characterize the numerous dining areas and lounges of the sun deck and upper deck. The interiors look the sea through large windows.
Among several innovations, the stern area offers a peculiar reorganization: the garage for tender, jet skis, and other equipment has been moved forward a side, allowing the entire stern area to be dedicated to a beach area that is free of all mechanical equipment and outfitted with a changing room, a shower and a bathroom, a compact galley and several armchairs.
