It is not an everyday occurrence to discover an uninhabited island. Specially one like Calivigny Island, which is nothing short of a little spec of Paradise located in the Caribbean, more specifically a mile off the main island of Granada.

White sandy beaches, lush vegetation and the promise of an unmatchable family retreat seduced Martine Cohen 10 years ago when she was sailing around the Grenadines with her friends. She called her husband on a whim and begged him to interrupt his business trip in Canada to fly to Grenada - she was sure Calvigny would work its magic on him too. Needless to say, the magic worked. The Cohens found their place on Earth and the island found its rightful owners.

Martine's husband is no other than Georges Cohen, owner of the magnificent 53m Perini Navi Atmosphere. Who best than the owner of a super yacht to understand and appreciate the potential of a place like Calvigny? It was those endless possibilities what fueled the Cohens' vision, which turned a private family getaway home into a rental island for luxury yacht owners looking to spend some time in the most idyllic of places.

Calvigny's Exclusive Accomodations and Services

Mega yacht owners around the world can rent this select private island and enjoy entertaining their guests and tending to their every desire. The residences and cottages offer a unique atmosphere to please even the most demanding visitors, while the sports and activities available will surpass anyone's expectations.

The five available living spaces can accommodate up to 50 guests in the most comfortable of conditions. The "Beach House Residence", "Overhang Residence" and the three "Calvigny Cottages" offer a hefty dose of lavish style coupled with 6-star accommodations that include luxury suites, en-suite bathrooms, fresh-water swimming pools, outside Jacuzzis, an outdoor bar, beautiful gazebos and the most breathtaking of views. The island staff, including world-class chefs, is available 24 hrs a day. Two jetties, one for tenders and one for yachts, are available to receive those who decide to experience firsthand the pleasures only life-changing places like Calvigny can offer.

Possibilities for Sports and Adventure Fans

Sport fans and adventure enthusiasts have a myriad of options to choose from in the island's 6 beaches ranging from tennis courts, swimming pools and natural jogging paths to a fully equipped state-of-the-art fitness center with the latest in weight-lifting, Yoga, Pilates and cardiovascular equipment. Calvigny's own private fleet is impressive enough to enable water skiing, windsurfing, snorkeling, wake boarding, sailing and fishing. The available boats include: 8m Boston Whaler, V-Iper 'Cropton' Pursuit Boat, 12,5m Munson Landing Craft, all of which are included in the rental fee, and two other incredible vessels which are available upon request, the 53m Perini Navi superyacht Atmosphere and the 26m Hatteras Sports fishing boat Spherefish.

When Martine Cohen first set eyes on wild, gorgeous Calvigny, she had no idea she would spend the next 10 years building not only her dream island, but also every yacht owner's. Truth be told, once Calvigny takes a hold of you, it never lets go.
